Man City 0-0 Man United
This game's ferocious start has calmed down a little now.
Both teams are trying to wrestle control of this game, but neither is keeping the ball for too long.
I imagine that Pep Guardiola isn't as happy as Ruben Amorim with how this game is panning out.
Man City 0-0 Man United
Oh jeezy peeps.
Altay Bayindir is showing just why Man United need a new keeper in net, as he nearly gives the ball away yards from goal.
He takes a honking touch and Erling Haaland is breathing down his neck, looking to punish.
The Turk just about recovers to save his own skin.
Man City 0-0 Man United
Maybe I spoke too soon.
I never seem to learn that whenever I say something, I always end up looking silly when the opposite happens.
As soon as I clicked send on the last post, Manchester United drove forward and Benjamin Sesko digs out an effort from distance.
It looks harmless, but Gigi Donnarumma makes sure to dive for the cameras. Classic.
Man City 0-0 Man United
Manchester City really have come flying out of the blocks here.
The pressing is just relentless, and only two-and-a-half minutes in, Altay Bayindir takes his time over a goal kick to calm things down.
This has the feeling of a long afternoon for Man United... already.
CLOSE! Man City 0-0 Man United
Phoarrrrr...
20 seconds in and Erling Haaland comes within a whisker of drilling Manchester City into the lead.
He has a pop from a ridiculously tight angle, and it only marginally rolls past the far post.
That would have been some start.
KICK-OFF: Man City 0-0 Man United
There really was only one Ricky Hatton.
Pep Guardiola look incredibly emotional as the Etihad pays tribute to a lifelong City fan.
Blue Moon is then belted out with that extra something special as the players take to their positions.
And off we go...
'Guardiola rumoured to go with a diamond'
Emotional atmosphere
This is a proper derby day atmosphere.
It feels as though there is a little extra oomph to the noise after the horrible news we heard earlier today.
The city of Manchester lost one of its most treasured men, Ricky Hatton, this morning.
The teams have now emerged from the tunnel, and they are now making their way to teh centre circle for a minute's applause in Hatton's honour.
There is an extra element of emotion to this one now.
'Amorim being safe'
'Not an elite clash anymore'
Blockbuster afternoon ahead
Thanks, Kim!
So, how are we all feeling?
There aren't many bigger games in world football than the Manchester derby, even when they aren't at the peak of their powers.
This fixture has given us many a cracking game over the years, and I am hoping for another today.
Kick-off is almost upon us.
10 minutes to go!
The time is almost near and you can really feel the excitement building.
I don't know about you but this feels like it could be a tight one.
You get the sense it could go either way with both sides out of form.
I'm going to pass you onto Harry, who's going to take you through all of the action.
Enjoy!
A sense of shock around the Etihad about the death of Ricky Hatton
Amorim not looking into Man City's slow start
Ruben Amorim has insisted he is not reading into Man City's slow start to the season ahead of their crunch derby clash.
Large police presence around the Etihad
Gloomy Manchester
This post should come as no surprise to anybody but it is raining in in Manchester.
Some supporters appear more prepared than others in their ponchos while others are getting creative and finding alternative ways to shield themselves from the rain.
Phil Foden pays tribute to Hatton - 'Today is for him'
Speaking ahead of the clash, Phil Foden paid tribute to boxing legend and Man City supporter Ricky Hatton who sadly passed away this morning.
Man City to honour Ricky Hatton
Manchester City will honour Ricky Hatton at this afternoon's derby with United.
It is understood those at Hatton's beloved club will hold a minute's applause and both sides will wear black armbands in memory of the Mancunian fighter, who was found dead at his home this morning.
Hatton was well known to staff at City and had been due to sit at a table in hospitality for the clash.
The Red Devils have arrived at the Etihad
Ruben Amorim and Co have rocked up to the Etihad, looking rather calm I must say.
The red side of Manchester won't be too put off by not being in their own grounds, as they have a decent track record here, winning 16 times compared to City's 14.
Donnarumma to make his debut
The big news coming from both starting line-ups is that Gianluigi Donnarumma has been handed his first start as Citizen by Pep Guardiola.
Ahead of today's game the Spanish manager revealed what he expects from the Italian keeper.
Manchester City - Team News
Gianliuigi Donnarumma gets handed his first appearance as a citizen as James Trafford is benched.
As Jeremy Doku gets the nod up front ahead of Marmoush.
Manchester United - Team News
Mazroui and Ugarte get the nod in the middle for this evening's derby, repalcing Dalot and Casemiro.
Whilst Benjamin Sesko will lead the charge at the front in favour of Matheus Cunha.
Pep Guardiola's men in unfamiliar territory
Manchester City find themselves in unchartered waters this season.
Guardiola's men sit way down in 13th after three games after suffering back-to-back defeats against Tottenham and Brighton.
It is the first time since 2004-05 that City have lost two of their opening three games in a campaign.
It is also the Spanish coach's worst start to a league campaign in his decorated career.
He will be hoping he can rally his troops to turn their fortunes around because the last time City lostthree of their first four games, they
were relegated in 1995-96.
Welcome!
