Dallas Mavericks point guard Brandon Williams was arrested over the weekend for the possession of marijuana, according to reports.

The backup has missed the Mavericks' last two games, citing personal reasons. However, it has now emerged that he was detained at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on Saturday.

Williams, 25, allegedly attempted to pass through TSA at the Dallas airport when security personnel discovered a container in his bag that held 1.585 ounces of marijuana, according to KENS5.

Officers arrested him at the TSA checkpoint inside the airport's Terminal C at around 10:02am local time and charged him with possession of marijuana. He was reportedly taken to jail without incident.

Williams is alleged to have told authorities that his manager had packed the bag containing the marijuana.

Since his arrest, Williams has missed the last two games for the Mavericks for 'personal reasons.' He remains questionable for Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers.
