The Egg Bowl descended into absolute chaos on Friday as a massive brawl erupted between Ole Miss and Mississippi State - just hours after a bizarre security breach involving a stolen jersey.
Tensions boiled over on the field in one of college football's fiercest grudge matches with 3:28 remaining in the second quarter and Ole Miss leading 14-7, a massive skirmish broke out in the middle of the field.
Video footage and images from the game showed chaotic scene as dozens of players in white and maroon jerseys clashed.
Shoving matches escalated rapidly, with players ending up on the ground as coaches from both sidelines and referees desperately tried to separate the two sides.
Despite the distractions, Ole Miss handled business in Starkville and stormed to a 38-19 victory, improving their record to 11-1.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Ole Miss Lane Kiffin said: 'We just try to play clean football. We try to execute and play really good football.

'For a whole sideline to try to fight and leave their whole sideline, including their athletic director, I've never seen anything like it... we're not trying to start a fight so our university can get credit for fighting people.'
In a bizarre twist, Kiffin revealed during an SEC Network interview that rival fans had broken into the Rebels' locker room in the middle of the night.
According to Kiffin, intruders broke into the visiting dressing room at approximately 3 a.m. and stole quarterback Trinidad Chambliss’ game jersey.
The coach explained that the program had set up their own cameras inside the locker room, which caught the brazen theft in progress. Kiffin noted that one of the intruders was filmed by the other as they swiped the jersey.
Kiffin added that authorities have since obtained surveillance footage of the vehicle used by the suspects involved in the pre-dawn heist.
Fortunately for Chambliss, equipment staff traveled with backup gear. The quarterback not only took the field but helped guide his team to a comfortable win.

While the game was tight through three quarters - with the teams trading field goals in the third to make it a close contest - the Rebels pulled away in the final period.
Ole Miss exploded for 14 points in the fourth quarter, suffocating the Bulldogs' defense and silencing the crowd at Davis Wade Stadium.
The Egg Bowl is notorious for its toxicity but the combination of a late-night burglary and a mid-game brawl has taken the hatred between the two Mississippi programs to a shocking new level.
