Former Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson got his first taste of the Istanbul derby at the weekend as he was pelted by plastic cups while playing for Fenerbahce.
The Brazillian departed City in the summer to move to Turkey after Pep Guardiola's side opted to replace him with Gianluigi Donnarumma, and has had a solid start to life in Turkey, with his side second in the Super Lig table.
On Sunday, however, he got a rude introduction to derby action in the country when his Fenerbahce side took on arch rivals Besiktas away from home in a heated clash.
With Ederson and Co winning the game 3-2, the home fans took exception to the goalkeeper and launched plastic cups his way, with the player stood in disgust as he gestured to the referee.
He even tried to volley one cup back into the crowd, with home and away players all moving over to help clear the pitch.
Orkun Kokcu had been sent off for the home side following a VAR check, with Besiktas manager Sergen Yalci - who replaced the sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earlier this year - also red carded.

Former Aston Villa man Marco Asensio hit the deck in the second half after being hit by an object thrown from the crowd
Things turned nasty on the hour mark, with former Real Madrid and Aston Villa man Marcos Asensio hitting the deck after he appeared to be struck by an object from the crowd when trying to take a corner.
The Spaniard held his head as he fell to the floor, with home players gathering round him to urge fans to stop. Another object appeared to slightly miss him, with the player later seemingly picking up a lighter from the ground.
It was another former Aston Villa man who scored the winner in the game, meanwhile, with Jhon Duran netting.
Ederson was involved in the celebratory scenes at full time, with the win moving Fenerbahce to within four points of league leaders Galatasaray.
He departed City after making 372 appearances for the club and winning the Treble in 2023.
The 32-year-old said of his exit: 'I leave Manchester City incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, and I am honoured to have worn the shirt so many times.
'Under Pep, we have dominated the Premier League and conquered Europe. It has been amazing.'
