Morgan Gibbs-White has bizarrely admitted that the Premier League has missed Manchester United winning games just days before his team Nottingham Forest face off against them at the City Ground.

Manchester United have turned a corner under Ruben Amorim of late, winning their last three matches in the Premier League to leap to sixth in the table after a disappointing start to the campaign.

Amorim, who was under significant pressure after United lost three of their opening six league games and crashed out of the Carabao Cup to League Two side Grimsby Town, has given the fans plenty to cheer about in recent weeks with victories over Sunderland, Brighton and bitter rivals Liverpool.

And United will look to make it four wins on the spin when they take on struggling Nottingham Forest, who are languishing in 18th place, on Saturday.

While gearing up to face Manchester United, Forest star man Gibbs-White bizarrely waxed lyrical about Amorim and the Red Devils, suggesting the Premier League is better off if they keep up their winning form.

'It's been incredible to see,' he told Stan Sport ahead of the fixture, which kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.

“It’s been incredible to see. You’re starting to see how Man United should be playing, that grit and determination to want to play for the badge. It’s something the league’s missed.” #MUFC pic.twitter.com/WKmK1HZL4m

'Obviously they've been going through a tough time, the past couple of years, but they've stuck with the gaffer and the past four or five games we've started to see how Man United should be playing, that grit and that determination to want to play for the badge.

'I feel it's been incredible to see, something that the league's missed. All we can do is focus on ourselves and not how Man United are doing and how their performances are.

'If we do that we're almost bowing down to them. We want to focus on what we want to do and how we can win the game.

'I feel like this week we've already started to implement some ideas and obviously we've still got a few more days until the game so I'm sure the gaffer (Sean Dyche) will have more ideas of how we can beat them.'

Gibbs-White has long had a soft spot for Manchester United, having grown up a Red Devils fan.

In a 2023 interview, the England international revealed that Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes were his football idols as a child.

'Growing up as a kid, I supported Man United,' he told the Premier League. 'Rooney was always my favourite player. He was the key player in that squad.

'Another player I loved watching was Paul Scholes, he used to just pick the ball up and zing it everywhere. He was just so calm and composed on the ball. That's where my love for football came (from).'

Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche will be telling his star man Gibbs-White to set his love for Manchester United aside when the two teams lock horns at the City Ground on Saturday

Dyche, who was appointed as Nottingham Forest manager shortly after Ange Postecoglou's disastrous 39-day reign at the club, will be telling Gibbs-White to set his love for Man United aside when the two teams lock horns on Saturday.

Forest, who did the double over Manchester United in 2024-25, picked up their sixth defeat of the season with a 2-0 loss against Bournemouth last weekend.
