Morgan Rogers is the latest Aston Villa player set to be awarded a new contract by the club.
The 23-year-old signed a new contract with the club only last November but Rogers, the PFA Young player of the year, was one of the most dangerous young attackers in Europe last season and has also broken into the England team under Thomas Tuchel.
Following in the footsteps of Matty Cash and John McGinn, Rogers’ new arrangement is thought to take his salary well beyond the £100,000-a-week mark, pushing him closer to top earners Emi Martinez and Youri Tielemans.
Daily Mail Sport revealed in July that Villa were keen to offer new terms to Rogers, who at that time was attracting interest from Chelsea and Tottenham.
Rogers was on Friday named in Tuchel’s latest squad and as long as he stays healthy, is likely to be a key member of England’s squad next summer as they attempt to win the World Cup for the first time in 60 years.

He also ranks as one of Villa’s best deals of recent times. Bought for about £10m from Middlesbrough in January 2024 after catching the eye of Unai Emery in the build-up to Boro’s FA Cup tie against Villa, Rogers quickly flourished in the top flight.
He was one of Villa’s best performers last term as they reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League and missed out on qualifying for the competition again only on the last day of the season.
Having secured the futures of Cash and McGinn, Rogers would be another welcome boost for Villa who are starting to rediscover their best after a tricky opening to the campaign.
Emery’s men face Bournemouth in the league on Sunday.
