Clippers star Bradley Beal will miss the rest of the NBA season due to a fracture in his hip.
Beal, 32, had missed four of his team's 10 games thus far, and was listed as out for his team's matchup against the Nuggets on Wednesday.
Now, ESPN's Shams Charania has reported that the three-time All-Star will undergo season-ending surgery just weeks into the new season.
Beal, who signed a two-year deal with the Clippers in July, was off to an uncharacteristic start with his new team.
The talented scorer averaged just 8.2 points per contest in six games - far lower than his career average of 21.4 per game.
Beal has struggled with various injuries in recent years, as he played just 196 games out of a possible 328 the previous four seasons.
Bradley Beal's 2025-26 season has already been cut short by a hip injury
The three-time All-Star had gotten off to an extremely slow start this year
Nonetheless, the Clippers would have hoped to get a scoring punch this season from Beal, who averaged a career-high 31.3 points in 2020-21.
The Clippers - who went an impressive 50-32 last year - have gotten off to a slow start this year, as they enter Wednesday's clash against Denver with a 3-7 record.
Kawhi Leonard has also missed four of LA's games thus far.
Following the news of Beal's season-ending injury, ESPN's Kendrick Perkins called for Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank to be fired - highlighting the play of former Clippers guard Norman Powell on the Heat.
After a career year last season in LA, Powell was traded to the Heat in a three-team deal, with John Collins going the other way to the Clippers. Beal signed with the Clippers 11 days later in free agency.
Powell is now playing even better for Miami, as he's averaging a career-high 24.5 points per contest thus far.
