Saints rookie Tyler Shough was named the team's starting quarterback this week, and the passer revealed afterwards that he'd received some motivational advice from his wife.
Shough is set to make his first start for the 1-7 Saints this weekend against the Rams, after coach Kellen Moore decided to bench Spencer Rattler.
And following the big news, he shared what his wife, Jordan, said to him.
'She's been such a huge role in this. And obviously just up to this point, from every college, from every step in the process to now, through the whole draft process. So it was a good feeling,' he told reporters of breaking the news to her.
'But she's also - she is a competitor, she played soccer. She was like, 'Good, go out there and win.'' She's not really satisfied with it and neither am I, there's nothing to be excited about. So it's just another stop, and we gotta go out there and win.'
Jordan previously played college soccer for Oregon, where she and Shough initially met during the beginning of his collegiate journey.

Jordan and Tyler met at the University of Oregon and remained together throughout his college journey
The quarterback, 26, ultimately went on to play seven years of college football, suiting up for Texas Tech and Louisville as well.
And Jordan was by his side through it all, before the couple got married last year.
The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary in April, with Jordan penning a sweet message on Instagram.
'Year One!! This year has been about as insane as they come!,' she wrote. 'The vows I said a year ago have never been more true!! A lifetime will never be enough!!'
In his final and best season of college football, Shough tossed 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns for Louisville - leading the Saints to draft him 40th overall in this year's draft.

New Orleans will now turn to him this weekend following a mixed start to the season for Rattler.
Rattler, a fifth-round pick in 2024, has completed 68 percent of his passes and thrown eight touchdowns (against five interceptions) thus far.
However, the Saints have lost three consecutive games - bringing them to a 1-7 mark on the year and Rattler to a 1-13 record as a starter dating back to last season.
New Orleans fans got a glimpse of Shough on Sunday as he replaced Rattler against the Buccaneers.
Shough completed 15 of 21 passes for 136 yards and an interception as New Orleans lost 23-3 to their NFC South rivals.
