Tensions among Cincinnati Bengals fans reached fever pitch Sunday after the franchise lost their starting quarterback Joe Burrow to injury.

The signal caller suffered a toe injury during the second quarter of the Bengals' win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, which is expected to sideline him for three months

And that appeared to be one blow to many for some Bengals fans as they came to actual physical blows in the stands.

Just moments after Burrow limped off the field, a group of supporters - many sporting the quarterback's No 9 jersey - broke out into a wild brawl.

In a clip that has gone viral on social media, a group of around five men could be seen swinging at one another, attempting to land punches over a glass barrier in Paycor Stadium.

Several women swooped in in an attempt to separate them, with one almost getting caught in the crossfire as she narrowly dodged a blow.

A group of Cincinnati Bengals fans were caught wildly brawling during Sunday's game

However, their efforts ultimately prove futile as one elderly man was knocked to the ground amid the scuffle.

Undeterred, he was helped to his feet and promptly threw himself back into the melee, reigniting the fiery back-and-forth.

A member of stadium staff and security then ushered the man and members of his accompanying party away from the scene as their fighting partners continued to hurl heated comments in their direction.

Jags defensive end Arik Armstead brought Burrow down in the second quarter on Sunday in Cincinnati. The 28-year-old former first-overall pick was helped off the field and into the locker room, but was initially listed as ‘questionable’ to return.

Images taken immediately after his second-quarter injury were sent to foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter .

And it was reported early on Monday morning that surgery will be required, leaving him sidelined indefinitely - and at least until mid-December.

It's unclear whether Burrow's injury sparked the shocking fistfight or whether another issue forced the Bengals fans to turn on one another.

The incident wasn't the first of the NFL season. During the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Rams' Week 1 clash, a female fan was left bloodied after a violent fight in the stands of SoFi Stadium.

The fistfight reportedly broke out shortly after quarterback Joe Burrow went off injured

Following the fracas, the female Texans fan suggested in a video that she planned to take legal action.

'Security just took my boyfriend inside to retrieve my property,' she began.

'They left me out here with zero f***ing anybody, no phone, no nothing. I don't know. I'm still bleeding from the altercation. I just want this documented for the attorneys going forward,' she added.

In video of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media, the female Texans fan was seen being escorted out of the stadium by security afterwards.

Meanwhile, her furious male companion continued to berate security and others seated in his section.

In addition to the apparent ejections, it's unknown if any arrests were made.
