The injury-ravaged 49ers got a massive boost on Wednesday as starting quarterback Brock Purdy returned to practice from a turf toe issue.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Purdy is still dealing with the problem - which has limited him to just two games this season - but will practice in limited fashion.
Tight end George Kittle, who hasn't played since leaving his team's Week 1 matchup with a hamstring injury, is also set to practice.
The first six weeks of the season have been extremely unkind to the 49ers in terms of injuries, as All-Pro pass rusher Nick Bosa tore his ACL in Week 3 and star linebacker Fred Warner suffered a season-ending ankle injury last weekend.
Receivers Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings have also missed time, while even Purdy's replacement, Mac Jones, is banged up.

Jones, who has impressed in four starts this season, is currently dealing with knee and oblique injuries but is also set to practice on Wednesday.
The former Patriots and Jaguars quarterback has averaged 313 passing yards per contest this season, adding six touchdowns and a 67.3 percent completion rate.
Purdy, meanwhile, hasn't played since September 28.
He signed a five-year, $265million extension with the 49ers in the offseason, though Jones' surprising play - which has helped the team to a 4-2 record - has led to some suggestions that there could be a quarterback controversy.
