Saints star Alvin Kamara has suggested he'll retire if the franchise tries to trade him out of New Orleans.

Kamara, 30, has spent his entire nine-year career with the Saints, though he's recently been the subject of trade rumors with the Saints at 1-5 through six weeks.

And while Kamara said on Thursday that he wants to remain in New Orleans, he added that he would 'drink a piña colada somewhere' if the franchise attempted to move him.

'I don't want to go anywhere,' Kamara told reporters. 'And I said it countless times, y'all know that. I think everybody knows that. The fanbase knows that. And at the end of the day, it's business.

'...I just got to keep my head down,' Kamara continued. 'And I don't know, if I was a GM, I guess I would go to the player and be like, 'Hey, we're trading you. Just so you know.' So, if Mickey [Loomis] come downstairs and says that, then I'm going to go drink a piña colada somewhere.'

Kamara is a five-time Pro Bowler, but is averaging just 3.8 yards per carry this season for a Saints offense that has struggled to score points.

Kamara has been with the franchise for 9 years but the Saints are currently just 1-5

An NFL Network report had previously said that Kamara told Saints general manager Mickey Loomis that he wished to remain with the team.

The report added that Loomis informed Kamara of interest from other franchises and asked him if he would want to be traded.

Kamara told reporters on Thursday that he didn't 'know where that [report] came from.'

He is under contract with the team through 2026 after signing a two-year, $24.5million extension last year.

Nonetheless, the trade rumors will likely persist if the Saints continue losing.

They'll travel to Chicago to face the Bears this weekend before hosting the Buccaneers next week.

Kamara has been with the Saints since 2017, when they selected him in the third round of that year's draft.

Since then, he's established himself as one of the league's best playmakers in the backfield and a skilled pass-catcher, as he caught at least 81 balls in each of his first four seasons.

The Saints went to the postseason in each of Kamara's first four years but have just a 31-43 record since.
