NFL star's unexpected deformity grosses fans out after he exposed it on live TV

NFL star Keenan Allen has gone viral after fans noticed his unique shoulder deformity.

Footage of the Chargers star celebrating their 20-9 win over the Raiders on Monday night swiftly began circulating social media as eagle-eyed fans spotted the detail.

The clip showed Allen facing the camera and cheering but supporters were far more concerned with two large bumps on his shoulders - with one the size of a golf ball. 

The unique deformity left some fans feeling squeamish, while others went on to label his shoulders as 'Allen's Aliens'. 

However, the explanation is far simpler than the 'alien' tag might suggest. 

The large lumps are the result of AC joint injuries - which Allen has a history with. His sprained his right AC join back in 2013 and never had it surgically repaired.

Then, in 2023, Allen sprained his left AC join which left him with an identical mark - the large lump - on his opposite side.

Former NFL doctor David Chao was one of the few who reacted to the video and noted that bone spurs in the shoulders are typically 'common with weight lifters'.

In a separate video, Chao explained that a 'simple off-season surgery' could remove the lumps - however it is clear that Allen does not want that at this stage.

Allen has now returned to the Chargers after spending the 2024 season with the Chicago Bears and has already recorded 12 catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
