Oscar Piastri on Thursday revealed that it required 'a good discussion' to resolve his frustrations after being ordered to let Lando Norris pass him at the Italian Grand Prix a fortnight ago.
Peace has held at McLaren. Just.
A slow pit stop on Norris's car saw him drop behind team-mate Piastri, so the Australian was instructed to gift the place back.
He did so after some resistance on the radio. Max Verstappen won, as he was going to do regardless. Norris finished second and Piastri third. Norris, therefore, cut his deficit in the championship to leader Piastri to 31 points.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Piastri said: 'Naturally there have been thoughts. We have had good discussions with the team. We have clarified a lot of things. We know how we will go racing going forwards.
'I can't get into every scenario. From Monza there was another factor outside of the slow pit stop – the order we pitted (Piastri having been brought in earlier than Norris to cover Ferrari's Charles Leclerc).

'That was a contributing factor to why we swapped. I respect the team's decisions and trust that they will make the right ones.'
Clearly, the significance of Leclerc's threat has been heavily briefed by the team to explain away their controversial intervention.
Norris claimed he was not surprised by criticism of the swap: 'Not in the world that we live in nowadays,' said the British driver. 'Because all people want to do is be negative and talk badly about others.'
