The Green Bay Packers had a chance to tie the visiting Philadelphia Eagles with a 64-yard field goal attempt at the end of regulation on Monday night at Lambeau Field.
Veteran kicker Brandon McManus had once connected from 61 yards away, so while it would be a career long for him, the 64-yard attempt was within the realm of possibility… or so it seemed.
Instead, McManus unleashed what one critic described as 'the worst kick attempt of all time,' allowing the defending-champion Eagles to escape Green Bay with a 10-7 win.
The misfire nearly sailed to the sideline rather than the end zone, allowing Eagles players to begin their victory celebrations long before the ball ever landed.
'I'll give Brandon McManus credit,' read one sarcastic comment on X. 'There was an attempt…'
McManus' attempt initially appeared to be deflected. After all: How else could he have shanked the ball so badly to the left?

McManus' attempt was not deflected, but rather completely shanked by the veteran kicker
But a closer inspection revealed a good snap, a good hold, and 'the worst thing Brandon McManus has ever done,' according to one fan.
Others remembered an equally inexplicable misfire from a decade ago when McManus was still playing for the Denver Broncos.
'Brandon McManus with maybe the worst game winning FG attempt since he pulled out this little number in 2015,' read the caption of another post which included footage of that memorable miss against Cincinnati.
Many other critics included footage of various fan attempts to kick field goals, all of which resulted in hilarious misses. One Jets fan is seen collapsing to the turf during an attempt, while a pee-wee kicker nails a teammate's backside in another clip.
After making 20 of 21 attempts for the Packers in 2024, McManus has struggled this season, missing five of his first 11 attempts. He also missed an extra-point attempt earlier this season.
The 5-3-1 Packers now move on to face the struggling New York Giants on Sunday in New Jersey.
