NFL legend Peyton Manning pulled no punches as he weighed in on a calamitous play from the Commanders against the Chiefs - and the wild celebrations that followed.

During the Monday Night Football showdown, a first-quarter Washington play went disastrously after Marcus Mariota's pass attempt hit the facemask of Deebo Samuel.

To make matters worse, the ball flicked up and into the arms of Michael Danna, who secured a vital interception for the home side and produced a passionate celebration.

Former Colts star Manning was watching on, as part of ESPN's coverage, and could hardly hide his frustration with both the play and the scenes that followed.

As the ball ricocheted off Samuel's helmet, Manning put his hands on his head and cried out: 'Oh no! You're kidding me! That can not happen'.

Manning continued to watch on as Danna ran to the end zone and slip across the turf in celebration, which only irked the two-time Super Bowl winner further.

The ex-NFL QB then ripped into Chiefs star Mike Danna for celebrating the interception

An evidently disgruntled Manning said: 'Oh, come on. We don't celebrate a tip ball. My gosh'.

When broadcast cameras showed a replay of the celebration just moments later, Manning seemingly muttered: 'Makes me sick'.

It didn't take long for a clip of the incident to begin circulating social media and, thankfully, some fans were able to see the humor in the situation.

Taking to X, one wrote: 'Peyton Manning getting p***ed off whenever a receiver makes a stupid mistake will never not be TV gold'.

'The best part of Manningcast is that Peyton Manning takes bad football personally,' another wrote on the social media platform.

Similarly, another fan wrote: 'Peyton Manning getting genuinely mad at bad football is always funny'.

'Peyton seems like he’d be a terrifying coach,' another user said.

One account even grouped together screenshots of Manning's animated reactions

Manning was watching on as Kelce and the Chiefs looked to make it three wins in a row, having previously beaten the Raiders and the Lions in recent weeks.

Earlier this year, Manning advised Kelce to not rush his retirement decision off the back of Kansas City's Super Bowl defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

'So, the last thing you want to do is say 'OK, I'm going to make a decision now,' he told E! News at the SNL 50th Anniversary Special.

'Take some time. Take a full month. Let some things digest and calm down. He can make a better decision then.'

In the end, Kelce opted to play for another year in a bid to help the Chiefs achieve Super Bowl redemption come the end of the season.
