The Philadelphia Eagles are continuing to make big moves ahead of the NFL trade deadline, now adding Miami Dolphins' star edge rusher Jaelan Phillips to their roster.
The Eagles have now made three trades in a week, with Phillips joining cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Michael Carter in Super Bowl-chasing Philly.
For the Dolphins, meanwhile, it is yet another sign that the rebuild has begun, with Miami receiving a 2026 third-round pick in exchange for the player.
Phillips, 26, is in his fifth NFL season after being drafted by the Dolphins with the 18th overall pick in 2021.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday morning that Miami will be paying a portion of Phillips' salary in order to facilitate the trade, taking on money for a better pick.
It is currently all change in Miami after the ownership fired general manager Chris Grier last week. Interim Champ Kelly has now agreed his first trade, landing a third-round pick for a player that would have been due a big new contract.

Phillips is in the final year of his rookie contract but has previously suffered two serious injuries
Phillips is coming to the end of his rookie contract, having played through the initial four-year, $14m deal and the team then picking up the fifth-year option.
He has suffered two gruesome season-ending injuries in his short NFL career, tearing his Achilles tendon and suffering an ACL tear in back-to-back years.
The 2-7 Dolphins are on their bye this week but prior to that Phillips had played in all nine of their games, last featuring in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, in which he logged four tackles and a sack.
Despite the Eagles giving up a third-round pick, they are still projected to have eight draft picks in 2026, including a first, a second and two thirds.
