TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto summoned eight Indonesian tycoons to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, March 6, 2025. The State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, and the Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, accompanied the President during the meeting.
The conglomerates who attended Prabowo's invitation include Anthony Salim (Salim Group), Sugianto Kusuma or Aguan (Agung Sedayu Group), Prajogo Pangestu (PT Barito Pacific Tbk), Garibaldi Thohir or Boy Thohir (PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk), Franky Widjaja (Sinar Mas Group), Dato Sri Tahir (Mayapada Group), James Riady (Lippo Group), and Tomy Winata (Artha Graha Group).
According to the official Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretariat, the president, along with the eight business magnates, discussed various recent developments in Indonesia and the world. The President also invited discussions about the government's main programs, such as Free Nutritious Meal (MBG), infrastructure, food and energy self-sufficiency, textile industry, industrialization, and the Danantara investment management agency.
"In a warm discussion atmosphere, President Prabowo appreciated the businessmen's support for various government policies and programs, especially those related to the interests and welfare of the people," wrote @sekretariat.kabinet.
Previously, Prabowo had signed Presidential Regulation Number 12 of 2025 concerning the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for 2025-2029. The policy, signed in Jakarta on Monday, February 10, 2025, contains programs the government will implement, including MBG, infrastructure, and food and energy self-sufficiency.
Meanwhile, BPI Danantara was officially launched by the President at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, February 24, 2025. Prabowo had appointed several officials of the latest sovereign wealth fund ranging from executive bodies to supervisory boards.
Danantara is regulated in Law Number 1 of 2025 concerning the Third Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN Law). In addition, there is also Government Regulation (PP) Number 10 of 2025 concerning the Organization and Governance of the National Strategic Investment Institution.
Regarding the appointment of Danantara's officials, Prabowo had also signed Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 30 of 2025 concerning the Appointment of the Supervisory Board and Executive Agency of the National Strategic Investment Institution.
During the 2025 World Government Summit, the President announced that BPI Danantara, according to the evaluation, will manage more than US$900 billion in assets under management (AUM). Meanwhile, the initial funding is projected to be US$20 billion.
"Furthermore, we are ready to launch Danantara, our latest sovereign wealth fund, which according to the initial evaluation will manage more than 900 billion US dollars in assets under management," said Prabowo at the 2025 World Governments Summit virtually in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Friday, February 14, 2025, as quoted from Antara.
