TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto invited several chief editors and senior figures from the mass media for a discussion at his residence in Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Saturday, February 22, 2025. In the meeting, Prabowo was accompanied by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi.

According to the official statement from President Prabowo's Media Team, the meeting began with a lunch together, followed by a discussion in the library of Prabowo's residence.

"Today I have the opportunity to meet once again with fellow chief editors and senior figures from the media at Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, Hambalang, Bogor, West Java," said Prabowo.

The discussion lasted for about six hours. Prabowo and the media chiefs exchanged thoughts on current issues. This meeting was held almost 20 months after the meeting on June 18, 2023.

"Finally, today we met in an atmosphere full of warmth and togetherness for six hours. We discussed and exchanged views on various issues and strategic policies, where the media plays a crucial role as the frontline in delivering complete and reliable information to the public," said Prabowo.

"Hopefully, this meeting will strengthen the synergy and contribution of the media in nation-building," added the President.

The Director of News of the National News Agency (LKBN) Antara, Irfan Junaedi, said he gained an overview of various government-initiated policies.

According to Irfan, President Prabowo explained in detail the reasons for various policies that were decided, including budget efficiency and the government's major program, the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG).

"We received an explanation of the underlying story behind all of this so that we could understand why the efficiency or budget reconstruction program was implemented. It turns out that there is indeed a grand plan prepared to save the state budget," Irfan said.

The meeting concluded with a dinner together and ended with conversations at the dining table and a group photo.
