Wrexham have revealed why Christian Eriksen really rejected their initial proposals to sign him in the summer.
The Championship outfit made an ambitious effort to sign the Denmark playmaker after he left Manchester United as a free agent at the end of last season.
Wrexham's rise through English football's ranks from the National League to the Championship under Hollywood owners Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds has been documented in the highly-popular 'Welcome to Wrexham' series.
The Welsh outfit saw the 33-year-old as an ideal player to help them upon their return to English football's second tier for the first time since 1992.
However, Eriksen - who suffered a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 - turned down their advances as he did not want to appear in the club's documentary series.
Speaking on That Wrexham Podcast, club chief executive Michael Williamson said: 'I reached out to the agent (Martin Schoots).

'And what was really interesting in the first call is the reaction was, "We don't want his story to be in a documentary, because we've had plenty of opportunities for a documentary for his story".
'He thought we were calling not because of his footballing capabilities, but because we wanted a documentary story (about Eriksen).
'I'm like, "Wait a minute. I didn't even think about that". Obviously, I'm aware of it, but that wasn't the reason we were calling.
'We were calling because he could potentially be an interesting footballer.
'We were looking for players that could play for us in the Championship, difference-makers that could help us be competitive on the pitch.
'After I explained what our actual objectives were, trying to build a competitive squad and that I wasn't even thinking about it from a documentary perspective, we had a great conversation.'
Eriksen, who has 146 caps for Denmark, subsequently chose Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg - joining in September on a contract that expires in the summer of 2027.
