Rory McIlroy took a brutal at Bryson DeChambeau on Sunday as Team Europe heartily celebrated winning the Ryder Cup.
Despite a late surge from DeChambeau and his USA teammates, Team Europe was able hold off the Americans in a nervy last day of action, winning the competition 15-13.
And after a weekend in which McIlroy faced frequent verbal abuse from fans, he had the last laugh as he covered DeChambeau's name with a Europe flag.
As seen in a video of the moment, Team Europe was standing on the walkway between the clubhouse and first tee when Matt Fitzpatrick encouraged his teammate to drape the flag over DeChambeau's name (which was written on the structure alongside his teammates').
McIlroy quickly followed his advice and looked delighted after doing so, as the crowd roared below him.
The Northern Irishman then began leading chants of 'OIe, ole, ole' which the crowd gladly took part in.

The swipe at DeChambeau - who clawed back from a huge deficit against Fitzpatrick on Sunday - comes after McIlroy and his teammates took a jab at Donald Trump during their victory celebrations.
The president attended the first day of action, and after Team Europe won, they posted a video where they chanted: 'Are you watching, are you watching Donald Trump?'
Trump was gracious in defeat, reposting the video on his Truth Social account and commenting: 'Yes, I'm watching. Congratulations!'
Team Europe - and McIlroy especially - dealt with vitriolic abuse from the American fans all weekend.
Fans led chants of 'f*** you Rory', took jabs at his marriage and ultimately forced organizers to beef up security.
A Video even emerged on Saturday night which claimed that his wife, Erica, was hit by a drink in the stands.
McIlroy, in turn, gave it back to the American fans at Bethpage Black on several occasions, telling them to 'shut the f*** up' at one point and also shouting 'f*** you, f*** you, f*** you' to the crowd after sinking a massive putt.

Asked about the crowd's hostility on Saturday, McIlroy said: 'I don't mind them having a go at us, that's to be expected. That's what an away Ryder Cup is. Whenever they are still doing it while you are over the ball and trying to hit your shot, that's the tough thing.
'In between shots, say whatever you want to me. That's totally fine.
'But just give us the respect to let us hit shots and give us the same chance that the Americans have.'
DeChambeau, meanwhile, was part of a furious yet ultimately unsuccessful comeback attempt for the Americans on the final day of action.
He was five down after seven holes in his singles matchup with Fitzpatrick before managing to earn a half-point, while Ben Griffin, J.J Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas and Cam Young all earned wins.
Ultimately, though, Europe did just enough to hold on and win the tournament for the 11th time in the last 14 attempts.
