Ruben Amorim insists he's NOT worried about losing his job despite Man United slumping to yet another defeat at Brentford

Ruben Amorim is 'confident' he can turn around Manchester United's season after suffering a third defeat in the first six games.

A 3-1 loss at Brentford left Amorim with a record of 34 points from his 33 Premier League games in charge, and piled more pressure on the Portuguese coach.

But Amorim insists he still has faith in himself to be successful at Old Trafford despite his poor record. 'I am always comfortable with the job. I am not concerned, it is not my decision,' he said. 'I will do the best I can every minute I am here. I am never concerned about my job, I am not that kind of guy.

'I'm always doing my job. If I win, I'm in a different state of mind. That is normal, but I'm always confident because I know what to do. I've always taken a lot of responsibility on your own shoulders.

'We can play better and we need to play better. It's like ups and downs. When you win, you feel that everything, the momentum is here. When you lose, you go back to the same place and you fight again for one win that can help you to create the momentum.

'I cannot tell you more than I say every time I lose the game. Sometimes you see one team that performs really well and you see improvements. And then sometimes you have some games that you don't see that improvement.

'That gives you the confidence to say that Manchester United is going to get back. So it's always the same conversation. It depends on the next game. So let's try to win the next game and to improve certain things.'

Amorim was frustrated that Igor Thiago scored twice inside 20 minutes after he had prepared United to face Brentford. 'We suffered goals in transition that we knew during the week and worked on that,' he added. 'So that is the things that we need to improve. We work on everything. The frustration is that every goal, the goals today, we work on that during the week.

'We played Brentford's game all game. And when you see a game like that it is hard to describe. We never settled on our game and it is different to what we saw today.'

Benjamin Sesko pulled a goal back with his first for United but the game turned on an incident in the 76th minute when Nathan Collins brought down former Bryan Mbeumo in the box. Referee Craig Pawson awarded a penalty but only gave the Brentford defender a booking. However, Bruno Fernandes wasted the chance to make it 2-2 as Caoimhin Kelleher saved his spot-kick and Mathias Jensen added a third in injury-time.

Amorim said: 'The referee told me that Bryan was not in control of the ball. I think he was not in control of the ball because he was pulled. So that was the decision. Again, I want, especially in these kind of moments, not focus on the referee.

'We score then missed a penalty. These crucial moments can change the game. It is hard to say if we deserved it or not. We never settled in the game, but we should have scored the penalty.'
