Giants quarterback Russell Wilson has declared that he is 'not done' after being benched for rookie Jaxson Dart.

Following an 0-3 start for Big Blue - and two uneven performances from Wilson - head coach Brian Daboll confirmed the switch on Wednesday - adding that Dart would be the starter for the rest of the season.

But while Wilson's tenure as the Giants' starter already appears to be over, he struck a confident tone when speaking to reporters after the decision.

'I know I'm a winner. I know my mentality of what that looks like, you know, having a championship mentality,' the Super Bowl winner said.

'Winners don't pick and choose. Leaders don't pick and choose when they wanna lead and when they wanna help and communicate like a winner, whatever that may be. So those are the things that I know, and I can control, and that's what I'm focused on.'

Daboll added that Wilson - who said he has 'so much belief in myself' - was 'nothing but a pro' when he broke the news of his benching to him the day prior.

Dart will take over as the Giants' starter this weekend at home against the Chargers

Russell Wilson is asked if he would request a trade or release from the Giants:

"I'm focused on helping this team win...I want to be here. I love this organization, I love the process of it all. I'm not giving up on us and this season." pic.twitter.com/q3kfoACrnU

And the 10-time Pro Bowler said he was 'focused on helping this team win' when asked if he would request a trade or release now that he's been benched.

'I want to be here. I love this organization. I love the process of it all and the guys in the locker room. I'm not giving up on us and this season,' he said.

Whether or not he remains in New York for the whole season, a source has told the Daily Mail that Wilson is determined to continue his NFL career amid the benching.

Daboll added that it was 'my decision' to make the switch and called it 'the right thing for our team'.

Wilson has struggled either side of a vintage 450-yard, three-touchdown performance against the Cowboys.

In Weeks 1 and 3 against the Commanders and Chiefs, he completed just 51 percent of his passes for an average of 164 passing yards.

Dart, meanwhile, was given playing time in run packages the last two weeks but has yet to attempt a pass.

The first-round pick thrived in the preseason and spoke on Wednesday about what he's hoping to provide to a winless Giants team.

'I want to do my best to be a spark,' he said. 'I want to create excitement on the field, be explosive, try to bring a little bit of swagger.'

His first test will be a tough one: at home against a stout, undefeated Chargers defense.
