Players and fans inside the Walkup Skydome were aptly spooked on Halloween as the Idaho Vandals took on the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks on Friday night.

The Vandals clinched a narrow 35-32 victory over the Lumberjacks in a thrilling overtime showdown. However, the dramatics weren't limited to the plays on the field as the stadium's infrastructure seemingly played into the spooky festivities.

With 8:28 remaining in the home game against Idaho, NAU had just re-taken the lead with a 28-yard run by wide receiver Kolbe Katsis.

In an effort to extend their lead to three points, the Lumberjacks made the decision to go for the two-point conversion.

Executing a two-point conversion to round off a touchdown drive is tough enough on the first ask, never mind having to produce it twice, which is exactly what NAU was forced to do when the stadium was plunged into darkness.

The ball had just left quarterback Ty Pennington's hands when all the lights inside the Walkup Skydome went out.

Unbelievably, despite the lack of visibility, receiver Jayson Raines still managed to hall in the pass in the endzone.

However, following a lengthy deliberation, the officials ruled that the try would have to be retaken due to the lighting issue.

Unperturbed, the Lumberjacks went for the two points once again and also converted their attempt. This time, it was Joey Stout who officially gave NAU the extra points.

However, it wasn't enough for NAU to seal the win as Owen Adams' 42-yard field goal on the Vandals' final play sent it to OT.

After NAU was forced to settle for Samuel Hunsaker's 38-yard field goal to begin OT, Idaho's Hayden Kincheloe ran it in from a yard out in overtime after Joshua Wood passed to Elisha Cummings for a 24-yard gain on first down.
