See the moment Snoop Dogg left Nick and Josh  Daicos stunned at the MCG and why the US Rapper might have to sign for Collingwood after a wager  with the Magpies brothers

Nick Daicos has joked that Collingwood might have to sign Snoop Dogg after the US rapper left him and his brother stunned by his footy skills at the MCG on Tuesday.

The 53-year-old musician is set to headline the Grand Final entertainment at the 100,000-capacity Melbourne venue, as Brisbane look to defend their crown against Geelong on Saturday afternoon.

According to Fox Sports, the AFL is set to hand Snoop Dogg $5million to follow the likes of Katy Perry and Robbie Williams as the next global artist to play at the showpiece event.

The AFL’s decision to hire Snoop Dogg for the Grand Final has received large backlash and concerns are mounting that he may be booed when he steps on stage, given his recent comments about same-sex couples and lyrics in his songs.

The league copped further criticism for Snoop Dogg’s appointment, after the AFL handed Adelaide forward Izak Rankine a four-match ban for a homophobic slur which was made during Adelaide’s game against Collingwood in August. Some claimed that the AFL had been hypocritical for hiring Snoop Dogg, despite its zero-tolerance approach to homophobia.

The rapper arrived at the MCG and met up with Nick and Josh Daicos for a kickabout.

Snoop Dogg booted a wonder goal from the pocket of the MCG, leaving the Collingwood duo stunned by his skills

It came just a day after Nick had agonisingly missed out on claiming this year’s Brownlow Medal, after the Collingwood midfielder, who had been the outright favourite to win the best and fairest award prior to the evening, was usurped by Gold Coast’s Matt Rowell.

The footy stars were seen showing Snoop Dogg how to kick the Sherrin before teeing him up to have a shot at goal.

In a video posted on the AFL’s Facebook page, the rapper - who has allegedly never played AFL football before - is seen lining up a shot at goal, from around 35m out, before sending the ball straight through the middle sticks.

The Daicos brothers were left enamoured by Snoop’s kicking skills, with the rapper celebrating the kick by saying: ‘That’s six points baby!’

The group then headed over to the touchline, with the Daicos brothers challenging Snoop Dogg to a little wager.

‘This one’s tougher, if you kick this, you’re playing for the Pies!’ Josh Daicos said, challenging Snoop Dogg to a wager.

It was a tough shot too. From the pocket, the group had around 30m to reach the middle of the goal.

Josh proceeded to show Snoop Dogg how to curl the ball around the corner and draw it into the middle sticks, before the US rapper had a crack himself.

It came after the Collingwood duo had claimed that if the US rapper kicked the goal from the tight angle then he had to sign for Collingwood

But after booting the ball the brothers claimed that the Magpies needed to sign Snoop Dogg

‘Aim for the right post! It’s gonna curve in,’ Daicos said to Snoop Dogg.

And rather sensationally, the US rapper lined up his shot from the pocket before booting the ball into the air, around the corner and through the middle sticks.

He ran away to celebrate the goal and pretended to celebrate to an imaginary crowd at the MCG by lifting his hand to his ear.

‘What did I teach you Snoop!’ Josh said. Snoop Dogg replied: ‘I gotta hire you dog!’

‘That’s crazy,’ Nick said. ‘We’re signing you!’

Snoop Dogg is understood to be an avid sports fan and supports the LA Dodgers in baseball and the LA Lakers in Basketball. He is understood to be a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan after stating that he used to watch the team with his grandfather in the 1970s.

However, the rapper, who has hits including ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ and ‘Gin and Juice’, has found himself being cast under a controversial spotlight following the announcement he is set to play at the match.

The league has come under pressure to axe the rapper with many his use of derogatory language in the past in relation to members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Snoop Dogg will headline as the entertainment for this Saturday's AFL Grand Final, but the league is facing much controversy over the decision considering his pat comments about  homophobia

The US rapper has a 1998 hit called ‘Doggz Gonna Get Ya’ which uses the same slur Rankine is believed to have said to a Collingwood player - ‘f****t’.

During a recent appearance on the ‘It’s Giving’ podcast, the rapper explained that he was ‘scared to go to the movies’ after seeing a same-sex couple during a film.

Snoop Dogg revealed he had taken his grandson to watch the new movie Lightyear. During the film, two women had a baby together.

‘They're putting it everywhere,’ Snoop Dogg said. He added his grandson had asked him about the relationship before.

‘I’m like oh s***, I didn’t come in for this s***, I just came to watch the goddamn movie.

‘So that’s like this, f*** me. I’m scared to go to the movies now, like y’all throwing me in the middle of s*** that I don’t have an answer for.’

However, Snoop Dogg later clarified his stance on the matter.

'All my gay friends [know] what's up, they've been calling me with love,' the Grammy nominee wrote under a Hollywood Unlocked clip of T.S. Madison calling him out. 'My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6-year-old. Teach me how to learn. I'm not perfect,’ he explained.

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon (pictured) has defended the league’s decision to hire Snoop Dogg

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon has since defended the league’s decision to hire Snoop Dogg.

'What I'm looking forward to over the next four weeks is the most important nine games of the year,' Dillon told journalists on Monday.

'Then we'll get to the last Saturday in September and we'll have the two best teams there.

'The Grand Final entertainment will add to what will be an amazing spectacle ... it will be at a level that we haven't seen for a long time, he'll do a great job.'

Meanwhile, rumours are emerging that Snoop Dogg’s Grand Final appearance could be set to cost the league more money because of one demand the rapper has made.

3AW’s Ross Stevenson has claimed that the AFL was left shocked after Snoop requested an identical stage that will be used during the Grand Final be built inside the Marvel Stadium to allow him to rehearse, before the Grand Final.

‘There has been a slight budgetary issue with Snoop Dogg’s Grand Final appearance on Saturday,’ Ross said on 3AW’s Rumour File.

‘Because he has demanded that a replica of the stage for Saturday be built at Marvel Stadium so he can rehearse before Thursday’s rehearsal at the MCG.

‘Which means that the Dogg will be rehearsing at Marvel either today or tomorrow.

‘I’m quite impressed by the fact that he wants to get it right ... but it wasn’t in the budget.’
