Shedeur Sanders' head coach has revealed why he didn't give the game ball to the rookie quarterback after his debut win for the Cleveland Browns.
Sanders was handed his first start for the Browns last weekend and put on a show as he helped guide the team to a 24-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
However, despite the impressive display, Sanders did not leave with the game ball which was, instead, handed to Myles Garrett.
Asked about the decision, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said: 'Myles [Garrett] got a game ball. I thought he was probably pretty worthy. But you're just trying to constantly recognize your guys.
'We spent time [this week], as well, pointing out all of our guys and the jobs they did. Pointed out Gage Larvadain having a big punt return, which was huge for our team.
'Your D-line doesn't get 10 sacks unless the coverage is really good. Obviously, a rookie starting his first game on the road getting a win is huge. So you acknowledge all that with your team.'

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski opted to give the ball to Myles Garrett instead of Sandes
After impressing with a 209-yard passing day including one touchdown, Sanders is set to keep his spot for the game at Huntington Bank Field this weekend.
It comes as a major boost for the NFL rookie given the availability of fellow signal caller Dillon Gabriel, who has been cleared of concussion protocol.
Gabriel suffered the injury in their game against the Baltimore Ravens earlier in the month and many wondered who would start once he returned from injury.
In the end, the Browns have opted to go for Sanders and it's understandable as to why, given he did etch his name into the Cleveland history books last Sunday.
By leading the Browns to victory, Sanders became the first quarterback to win on his first career start for the franchise - breaking an 0-17 streak.
His performance drew acclaim from fans across the country and even caught the attention of Donald Trump, who posted about Sanders on social media.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump wrote: 'Shedeur Sanders was GREAT. Wins first game, career start, as a pro (for Cleveland). Great Genes. I TOLD YOU SO!'.
Back in April, Trump was left seething over the decision from franchises to overlook the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback and son of NFL legend Deion Sanders.
By leading the Browns to victory against the Raiders, Sanders became the first quarterback to win on his first career start for the franchise - breaking an 0-17 streak
At the time, Trump wrote: 'What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID? Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He's also a very good coach, streetwise and smart!
'Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be 'picked' IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!'
During the win over the Raiders, Sanders went 11-of-20 for 209 yards including one touchdown and one interception.
