Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has confirmed that Shedeur Sanders will be the team's starting quarterback on Sunday.

The Browns will face the Las Vegas Raiders with Sanders set to start under center, despite his nightmare NFL debut last weekend.

Last Sunday proved a rollercoaster for the rookie, who followed the seismic high of his NFL debut by hearing that his home had been broken into.

Sanders entered the game in the second half after starter Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion. He was given a huge ovation by the Browns fans.

But the 23-year-old failed to inspire Cleveland to victory as the Ravens edged Sunday's game 23-16.

He ended the night with 16 rushing yards and 47 passing yards after completing four of his 16 passes. He also threw one interception and was sacked twice.

After the game, Sanders admitted: 'I don't think I played good at all... It was just rough overall, it was a rough day overall.'

He added: 'Losing isn’t something I’m comfortable with. I just have take this one. I have to decompress, I have to understand: this really happened. On my watch.

'I don’t like the feeling and I know offensively if I'm able to get out there and have an opportunity, I know I'll be able to take everything to a different level.

'I still have the same confidence. I’m still me. That’ll never go anywhere.'

While Sanders was taking to the field, he unknowingly became the latest athlete to be targeted by thieves when his Ohio home had been raided.

It was initially unclear whether anything had been taken from his home, but now TMZ Sports is reporting that $200k in property was stolen during the raid.

Three suspects wearing masks and gloves are said to have entered Sanders' home at around 6:46pm, a new press release states. They were also seen making their way around several parts of the building on surveillance cameras.

The suspects are then believed to have left the pad at around 6:58pm with 'various property belonging to Mr. Sanders'.

The incident remains under investigation, with potential suspects yet to be identified.

Sanders is the latest NFL star to fall victim to a burglary while competing on the field, following the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Joe Burrow.

NBA players Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Ja Morant also saw their homes raided while on the court this year amid a worrying rise in big-name athletes being burgled.
