TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - On March 13–14, the world witnessed the blood moon lunar eclipse. Just around two weeks later, we are about to be graced by another cosmic event—a solar eclipse.
A solar eclipse is one of nature’s most awe-inspiring phenomena—a spectacular event when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, blocking part of the sunlight. It typically occurs once or twice a year, having the most recent one on April 8, 2024.
As quoted from Conde Nast Traveler, we will see this year’s first solar eclipse on March 29, 2025.
Where to See the 29th of March Solar Eclipse in the U.S.?
In the United States, the solar eclipse will be visible in several locations, including Washington, D.C., and 12 states in the Northeast. The best viewing spots are typically along the coastal areas of New England, Maine, and regions with higher elevations.
When it comes to time, the incredible sight will be visible between 6:13 and 7:17 a.m. EDT, according to Forbes. The complete list of locations where the solar eclipse can be observed is as follows:
- Washington, D.C.
- Maine
- New Hampshire
- Vermont
- Massachusetts
- Rhode Island
- Connecticut
- New York
- New Jersey
- Pennsylvania
- Delaware
- Maryland
- Virginia
Though the solar eclipse is both exciting and captivating, it's important to view it safely. Yahoo! News suggests viewers use proper eye protection, such as eclipse glasses or a certified handheld solar viewer.
It's also strongly discouraged to use camera lenses, binoculars, telescopes, or other optical devices to look at the Sun, as this can cause serious eye injuries.
