Buffalo Bills star Keon Coleman has been benched for their game against the Buccaneers, just two days after missing a team meeting on Friday.

The Bills released their inactive list on Sunday morning and revealed that wide receiver Coleman will be a healthy scratch for the very first time in his career.

According to reports, Coleman had been set to start the game at Highmark Stadium but, after missing the meeting, Bills coaches changed their minds.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz said the decision to drop Coleman is not 'performance-based' and, rather, because 'the team wants to see more from him in other areas'.

Schultz claimed that Coleman had in-fact 'had a strong week of practice' in the lead-up to the game but, ultimately, will spend the afternoon on the sidelines.

The 2024 NFL Draft pick has had a strong season thus far for the Bills, with 32 receptions for 330 yards and three touchdowns.

Speaking about Coleman earlier in the week, Bills coach Sean McDermott said: 'He knows if I'm not satisfied. ... Just like any player. It's fair that you're asking about it.

'I can promise you it gets addressed when it isn't where it needs to be. There are times like any player or any performer where it's exactly where it needs to, and there are times when it's not.

'And then we have to address it to get it hopefully where it needs to be. So it's addressed. It's been good at times and other times it can improve for sure.'

Meanwhile, the Bills elevated wide receiver Gabe Davis following his return from a torn left meniscus injury which he suffered during his time with the Jaguars last year.

It will be Davis' first game for the Bills since 2023, having spent four-years with the franchise during his first stint in Buffalo.

He had 163 catches in 64 games before moving on to Jacksonville for the 2024 season.

The team have also signed Mecole Hardman to the active roster from the practice squad, after the 27-year-old signed with the Bills earlier in the week.
