Buccaneers star Baker Mayfield left Monday Night Football viewers in hysterics as he joked about his own arrest from eight years ago.

The quarterback was on the 'Manningcast' stream of the Cowboys-Cardinals game with brothers Eli and Peyton, when the former brought up an impressive first-down scramble Mayfield made against the Commanders in Week 6.

'When do you work on that? What day of the week do you work on breaking tackles and spin moves and some of that stuff?', Eli asked.

But the Tampa Bay quarterback took the question in a hilarious direction.

'I tried one time in Fayetteville, Arkansas and it didn't go too well. Wound up getting arrested,' he said. 'But I've improved since then, so just finding time whenever I can.'

The quip - a reference to his 2017 arrest for public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and fleeing - earned some laughs from the Manning brothers and plenty of fans online as well.

'That's why he the goat,' one wrote.

'Everyone loves baker and this is why,' a second said.

'Baker was quite funny tonight!,' a third added.

And a fourth said that they'd 'Totally forgot about' Mayfield's arrest, while adding laughing-crying emojis.

As seen in bodycam footage from his arrest, Mayfield attempted to run away from cops before he was tackled to the ground.

He would go on to apologize for his actions shortly after his arrest.

'The shame, guilt, and embarrassment I have felt over the past few days and continue to feel is something I would never wish upon anybody,' he said at the time.

Mayfield is having another impressive season for the Buccaneers, who are 6-2

Since then, he has certainly turned his life around.

After an up-and-down tenure with Cleveland - and short stints in Carolina and Los Angeles - Mayfield has blossomed into one of the NFL's best passers since joining the Buccaneers in 2023.

The former Oklahoma star has been a Pro Bowler the last two seasons and is once again off to a hot start, as he has 13 touchdowns and just two interceptions thus far.

Tampa Bay also leads the NFC West with a 6-2 record.

They'll look to emerge from their bye week with a win against the Patriots this weekend.
