Tate McRae sparks dating rumors with new NHL star after 2023 split from Cole Sillinger amid cheating claims

Internet sleuths think that singer Tate McRae might be dating a new hockey player, nearly three years after her split from another NHL star in Cole Sillinger.

Pictures circulated online, first reported by Deuxmoi, appear to show the 22-year-old McRae at dinner with the NHL's Jack Hughes, who is sidelined for up to eight weeks after cutting his hand on some broken glass. The photos going around on social media appear to show the man with his hand in a cast.

The couple were seemingly pictured at Anton's in Manhattan's West Village, last week. Hughes, 24, plays for the New Jersey Devils and is currently signed to an eight-year, $64million contract.

McRae, meanwhile, previously dated the Columbus Blue Jays star Sillinger from late 2021 until early 2023, with internet rumors accusing Sillinger of cheating on the pop star.

He denied those claims in February 2024, when their old relationship had returned to the spotlight after her performance in the NHL All-Star game. 

He commented on a post summarizing the accusations against him by saying: 'All false my guy'.

Sillinger was drafted as the No. 12 pick of the 2021 NHL Draft by the Blue Jackets - his hometown town.

The pair first got romantically involved soon after a mutual connection set them up on a date, according to Entertainment Tonight. It was shortly after Sillinger called McRae his 'celebrity crush'.

'He's one of my friend's friends, so it all worked out,' the singer said. 'It was really funny — I was like ''I can forever hold this over you till the day you die, that I was your celebrity crush.'''

After Sillinger, the Canadian singer McRae dated Australian artist The Kid LAROI but they broke up in July.

Hughes, meanwhile, had to have surgery on his finger after what the Devils called 'a freak accident' at a team dinner. 

He had started the season in brilliant form, with 10 goals and 20 points to his name in his first 17 games.
