Texas A&M coach Mike Elko couldn't hide his frustration after his pre-game mocking of bitter rivals, the Texas Longhorns, humiliatingly backfired on Friday.
Heading into the Lone Star State showdown, Elko, 48, had bragged that his Aggies were the 'flagship program in the state' in a pointed dig at the Longhorns.
However, that 'flagship program' suffered a 27-17 defeat to their supposedly lesser state neighbors, ending their perfect season.
Not only did it end A&M's unbeaten run but it also knocked them out of contention for the SEC Championship game.
And the Longhorns didn't wait long to fire back at Elko. Right after Arch Manning and co clinched their victory, the video board at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium played a stinging retort.
The Longhorns played the press conference clip of Elko's 'flagship' declaration before immediately cutting to a 'sike' meme and live shots of the Texas players celebrating the win.

The Longhorns didn't hesitate to mock Elko and their bitter rivals on the scoreboard
The Longhorns players backed up the scoreboard troll as they continued to toast their victory with wild celebrations on the field, which seemingly continued on into the tunnel and the locker room.
And the scenes were enough to tip a frustrated Elko over the edge. Noise from Texas's celebrations filtered through to the coach's post-game press conference, causing him to snap.
Clearly on edge, Elko raised his voice as he yelled for the door to be shut before slamming his hand on the table.
'Could we close the door and run a professional press conference, please?' Elko said while clearly agitated. 'My gosh.'
The coach then shook his head and apologized for his fiery outburst.
The bad blood between Texas and Texas A&M had also boiled over on the field as Longhorns players were caught disrespecting their bitter rivals following the victory.
In viral footage circulating on social media, a group of Texas players can be seen circling a maroon Texas A&M jersey that had been thrown onto the turf.
The celebration quickly turned ugly as the players began stomping on the uniform, grinding it into the dirt while cheering and jumping in a chaotic huddle.

The display of disrespect added a fiery postscript to what had already been an intense encounter that saw the Longhorns spoil the Aggies' perfect season.
Texas, which started the season No. 1 and at one point was unranked, beat a top-10 opponent for the third time this season to keep alive any faint hopes of making the College Football Playoff for the third consecutive time.
The Aggies are all but assured their first playoff berth, but the loss to their biggest rival will sting the program for a long time. Texas A&M has never played for an SEC title since joining the league in the 2012 season.
Texas A&M led 10-3 at halftime before Texas seized control with 17 consecutive points in the third quarter.
The Aggies pulled to 20-17 before Manning's big touchdown run. Facing third-and-short, he ran through the right side of the line, found a seam to slip into the secondary and clutched the ball tightly as he crossed the goal line ahead of a lunging defender.
The quarterback prodigy finished with 179 passing yards and a touchdown after completing 14 of his 29 passes, while he also recorded seven carriers for 53 rushing yards and the game-clinching touchdown.
