The mad methods that power Erling Haaland: Red light therapy, huge farm steaks and raw milk all on show as Man City star lifts the lid on his super-fitness regime

Erling Haaland has offered fans an access-all-areas glimpse into the lifestyle which powers his goalscoring prowess in a film to launch his new YouTube channel.

And apparently red light therapy, gigantic barbecued steaks, raw milk, coffee, and cooking with his girlfriend Isabel Haugsend Johansen are the fuel for his form.

In the video, the Manchester City star, 25, takes supporters through his daily routine, including the incredible eye for detail he has in cooking, individual physio sessions and his unorthodox habits which get the most out of his body.

Haaland, who has been in blistering form for club and country this season, is set to release further videos on his eponymous channel, which launched today.

The Norwegian striker begins by making a breakfast of eggs on sourdough and a cup of coffee with maple syrup at the couple's six-bedroom mansion in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

'Coffee is a super food in my eyes - if you do it right,' Haaland explains. 'Why? Depends on the quality, when you drink it, and of course how. I'm into my coffee. It needs a little bit of [raw] milk in - super food as well, I think.'

The Norwegian recommends getting some sunlight on your skin early doors with a walk, and enjoys tucking into freshly delivered sourdough bread each morning.

A peaceful morning with his girlfriend is interrupted by Manchester City physio Mario Pafundi, who Haaland has jokingly nicknamed 'Italian f***', and it's off to work for the day.

Pafundi is shown giving Haaland a massage and treatment session, with the Man City star revealing the secrets to how he scores 'crazy' goals - including his famous strike against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

'I have a natural good flexibility in my groins and hips, which for me is so important to keep because how else do you score these goals,' Haaland says.

'You need to have good mobility or flexibility to score these crazy goals, so we need to keep this.'

The session also includes red-light therapy, which uses infrared rays to penetrate deep into tissues and joints, to aid his recovery.

Advocates say light-emitting diodes (LEDs) can repair damaged tissue, calm the body's response to injury, and reduce inflammation.

'From the sun we get a lot of red light,' Haaland says.

He also has an ice bath and sauna outside the six-bed property in the north's 'Footballer Belt'

Haaland is happy with his haul of steaks, raw milk, and raw honey from a local farm

'We don't get sun outside now, so I need to have this to get a bit of red light on my back and on my body.'

Haaland is shown buying raw milk, steaks, and raw honey from a micro-dairy, Greenoaks Farm in Cheshire, on his way to training. He eats a lunch of sea bass, asparagus and egg fried rice before joining his team-mates on the pitch at the club's base.

After returning home, Haaland prepares dinner with Johansen and is filmed cooking large tomahawk steaks on a barbecue.

He then takes an ice bath and a sauna - 'I try to do both almost every day and at least five times a week' - before sitting down with his fiancee for steak, potatoes and a tomato and onion salad, which they both eat with their hands.

His bond with Johansen is a big part of this opening documentary, with the playful and understanding relationship between the pair clear to see.

Haaland and Johansen, who is three years younger, had met when playing at the youth academy at Bryne. '[She was] a good footballer,' the City forward says in the 27-minute film, entitled: 'Day in the Life of a pro footballer.'

He then goes on to compare Johansen to a Manchester United legend. 'Ryan Giggs! Left wing, swinging them in.'

Johansen replies: 'To be honest, I wasn't the best with dribbling. I was more speed - a bit like him. I don't think you are the best dribbler, but you have the speed!'

They also discuss their footballing careers as Johansen reveals she initially liked one of his best friends

Haaland joined Bryne at the age of five and spent more than 10 years with the Norwegian side before later having spells at RB Salzburg, Dortmund and now City.

The couple, who have yet to publicly reveal their young son's name after she gave birth in December, started dating when he was at Borussia Dortmund, with Isabel making frequent trips to visit him.

And in the film, Haaland offers an insight into how they got together. 'She remembers many times that she's seen me [when we were younger], but I don't!'

Haaland goes on to reference his viral music video, which he rapped in alongside his friends Erik Sandberg and Erik Botheim.

The trio performed under the name 'Flow Kingz', with Haaland rapping as he held BBQ utensils in his playhouse.

And Johansen reveals she actually liked one of his friends before 'changing her view after I saw you'. 'I do think it's fate, but you don't,' she tells Haaland in the video.

Haaland has scored 15 goals in 11 games for Man City so far this season. Pep Guardiola's side are second in the Premier League, three points behind leaders Arsenal.

City travel to face Aston Villa in their next league game after beating Villarreal 2-0 in Spain on Tuesday, with Haaland getting his team's first goal on the night. You can't see him stopping.
