Crystal Palace have joined Arsenal in asking for a Premier League match during the Christmas period amid a pile-up of games.
It was confirmed on Monday that the Gunners will play Palace at the Emirates on Tuesday December 23 at 8pm — even though the fixture was originally designated to fall on either Tuesday December 16 or Wednesday December 17.
Arsenal had formally requested for the match to be played on December 16, with the new date just 53 hours after they kick-off against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday December 21.
Arteta hinted Arsenal have asked the Premier League to reschedule the Everton fixture to give his players sufficient rest amid a jam-packed schedule, saying: 'If we continue to do that (play) every three days… we want respecting again. What we discussed previously, that in our opinion is the most important part.
'Hopefully they will move (our) Premier League match because to play to this date doesn't make any sense, obviously. So we will now decide the date. I'm sure they will change the Premier League date as well.'
Palace have now joined Arsenal in asking for a game to be moved, with Oliver Glasner confirming that his side are trying to get his side's game against Leeds on December 21 brought forward.

Oliver Glasner is trying to get his side's game against Leeds moved forward by a day
'We are trying the same thing that Arsenal are trying,' Glasner said. 'To move our Leeds game forward to Saturday [December 20], so we don't have two days between these games.
'We didn't get a response until now from the Premier League, just to have the same as Arsenal, if their game is moved.'
The Premier League have seemingly seen fit that the December 23 was the only place they could put the game. The other three Carabao Cup quarter-final games take place the week before, but Palace host KuPS of Finland in the Conference League that week.
There has been growing concern over fixture congestion for top sides who compete on multiple fronts, with more Champions League matches and another European competition added in recent years.
Arsenal, for example, are in the race for the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, with squad depth key to success.
Arteta also said: 'We have seven players out, eh? So I don't know what (squad) depth we're talking about now because we're missing a lot of players, a lot of front players.'
He then added: 'I'm sure we will apply the principles of first of all the players, then the supporters, and then the times that we need to have equality and the same chances for every club. So hopefully it will be fair.'
