The Journal of Health, Population, and Nutrition identifies some factors that contribute to the low fertility rates, including the rise in contraceptive use, shifting attitudes of women toward employment, increasing child-raising costs, and urbanization.
2. Densus 88 Arrests Fugitive Terror Suspect After 11 Years on the Run in Central Sulawesi
The Indonesian National Police's Counter-Terrorism Unit, Densus 88, captured three individuals suspected of terrorism on Thursday, December 19. One of them has been on the run for 11 years.
The arrests, carried out in collaboration with the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) of the Central Sulawesi Police, took place in the cities of Palu and Ampana, located within Tojo Una-Una Regency.
Antara reported on Thursday that one of the suspects, identified as Wawan, also known as Mut, was arrested in Palu. Meanwhile, two other individuals, identified by their initials AS and RR, were detained in Ampana. All three are believed to be involved with the East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT) network.
