TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - New Year’s Eve has always been a spectacle in Jakarta. Not only fireworks shows, some spots also hold special events to celebrate the change of year, including music performances and video mapping shows.
This year, Jakarta raises the theme of Semarak Jakarta Mendunia (Jakarta Goes Global) for its New Year celebrations. Jakarta residents and tourists are welcome to enjoy Monas Night Tour and Monas Week, the Jakarta Light Festival in Kota Tua, Sorak Sorai Fest at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and the Joyful Holiday event in Ancol.
Here are some options for you to celebrate New Year’s Eve among other people in several locations across Jakarta.

The Tugu Monas Night Tour is open from December 28 to 30, 2024. Visitors can get tickets at the counter until 9:00 p.m. Jakarta time, but the organizer limited the visitors to 2,400 people only.
The Dancing Fountain is held in two sessions every day, at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., except on December 30, which is partially reserved for collective prayer to welcome the 2025 New Year.
Especially for December 31, the Tugu Monas Night Tour is limited to a 6:00 p.m. session with a reduced quota of 1,600 people. However, visitors can still enter the Monas area until 00:30 a.m. on the new year.
