TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Trade Minister Budi Santoso announced that the preliminary total transactions during the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) reached US$17.27 billion, or approximately Rp286 trillion. This figure was calculated from Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) signed over the first two days, October 15-16, 2025, between Indonesian businesses and foreign buyers.

"The total as of the second day is around US$17.27 billion. This is until the second day. The final calculation will be done again in the late afternoon on the third day," Budi told Antara on Friday, October 17, 2025.

On the first day of TEI, 131 MoUs were recorded, valued at US$9.98 billion. The second day closed with 139 MoUs worth US$7.22 billion.

Products most in demand by foreign buyers included: energy and resources (coal, blue energy investment, gold, biodiesel, and charcoal), commodities (palm oil and its derivatives), and manufacturing and lifestyle (furniture, jewelry, spice products, and food and beverage products).

TEI 2025 was attended by 1,619 participants and featured 8,045 registered buyers from 130 countries. The exhibition was organized into three main zones: food and agricultural products, manufacturing products, and services and lifestyle.

The Ministry of Trade had set a transaction target of US$16.5 billion, equivalent to Rp273.5 trillion, for Trade Expo Indonesia 2025. This target was exceeded by the second day of the event.

In comparison, the ministry had targeted US$15 billion for the 2024 exhibition. However, the actual total transactions in 2024 reached US$22.73 billion, or equivalent to Rp370.88 trillion.
