TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - U.S. President Donald Trump pledged that no Palestinians will be forced to leave Gaza under his ceasefire plan.

This ceasefire agreement marks a milestone after a 2-year-long genocide that Israel committed in Gaza since October 7, 2023. If successful, the rebuilding of Gaza will commence.

"It's all finalized and done. Nobody is going to be forced to leave. It is the opposite.... No, we're not looking to do that at all," he said when asked if Palestinian people would be forced to leave Gaza under the ceasefire, as reported by Anadolu.

Trump stated that the Gaza ceasefire agreement has been "finalized and done," and he plans to travel to the Middle East later this weekend.

"I think it's going to be great. I think the hostages will be coming back Monday or Tuesday. I'll probably be there. I hope to be there. And we're planning on leaving sometime Sunday, and I look forward to it," he said.

Regarding the plan to deploy international stabilization forces to Gaza, Trump mentioned that talks are still ongoing.

To be determined, really. I think there’s going to be a large group of people determining what it will be, and a group of people funding it—very rich countries are going to be funding it,” he said. “People want to see this work. It's going to work. It's absolutely going to work. And it starts. It's already started.”

Part of Trump's Plan

The ceasefire announced by Trump on Wednesday is the first step of a 20-point ceasefire plan for Gaza.

The first phase includes the release of all Israeli captives with about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, a permanent ceasefire, and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.

Previously, Aljazeera detailed the 20-point ceasefire plan for Gaza provided by Trump on September 29.

This plan outlines a monitored ceasefire phase, followed by an economic reconstruction process, a demilitarization phase, and a long-term plan for dialogues leading towards a Palestinian state.

Arab and Muslim countries have shown a positive response to this plan, but some still state that the plan needs to be discussed and negotiated further for full implementation.
