TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) supported by PT Pertamina (Persero), Made Tea and Bali Honey, have sent their inaugural export products to the Philippines.

Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that the company has provided assistance to both MSMEs, which has eventually enabled them to export their products. "The success of Pertamina-supported MSMEs in penetrating the Philippines and other foreign markets is concrete evidence that local products are globally competitive," said Fadjar in a written statement on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

Fadjar claimed that the demand for Indonesian products continues to increase. "We will continue to promote subsequent exports so that MSMEs can further develop in the global market," he said. According to Fadjar, the growth of MSMEs in the country will benefit the economy. Successful MSMEs, he stated, will enhance community empowerment, provide employment opportunities, and contribute to national economic growth.

Pertamina has several programs for the sustainability of their supported MSMEs' exports. For example, export and legality assistance, export strategy training, participation in international exhibitions, strengthening networks and collaborations, as well as networking & sharing sessions, and establishing an export MSME community.

Ismail, the owner of Bali Honey, mentioned several facilities he obtained from Pertamina. Among them, he stated, are export training, legal assistance, and the opportunity to meet with international buyers.

He hopes that this inaugural export will be followed by further shipments. "Considering the positive response from the Filipino market, we are optimistic that the next shipments will soon be realized," said Ismail.

The owner of Made Tea, Ni Made Roni, stated that their business is also trying to expand their market share beyond Indonesia. "With the increasing demand from the Philippines, we are preparing for the next shipments and hope to penetrate other Asian markets," said Made.
