Hampden Park and Easter Road have been included in the UK’s bid to host the 2035 Women’s World Cup.
Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland’s joint bid stands unopposed and could be ratified by a vote in a Fifa congress in 2026.
Should the UK’s bid be confirmed, the 2035 tournament will be the second time a World Cup has been held in the home nations after the 1966 men’s tournament in England.
In total, 22 stadiums were listed in Friday’s announcement — 16 in England, three in Wales, two in Scotland and one in Northern Ireland.
From 2031, the Women’s World Cup will be contested between 48 teams — in line with the men’s format — and require 15 stadiums. The tournament would involve 104 matches contested by the 48 teams over 39 days.
No financial details were made available.

A joint statement from the CEOs of The FA, Irish FA, Scottish FA and FA of Wales said: ‘A Women’s World Cup in the UK has the power to turbo charge the women’s and girls’ game both in the UK and globally.
‘Our bid also demonstrates our commitment to leaving a lasting legacy, in the run up to 2035, and the years afterwards.’
Scotland head coach Melissa Andreatta added: ‘The impact of bringing the World Cup to our nation would be felt for decades, driving participation, investment and equality at every level of the sport.’
Meanwhile, Scotland scored a stoppage-time equaliser through debutant Maria McAneny to snatch a 1-1 friendly draw against Ukraine in Jerez.
Andreatta’s side had fallen behind to a goal from Roksolona Kravchuk late in the first half and looked to be heading towards defeat until McAneny fired in during the sixth minute of added time following a scramble at a corner.
Scotland had made a positive start at Estadio Municipal de Chapin, with a close-range effort from Martha Thomas saved by Ukraine keeper Kateryna Samson before Sophie Howard sent her header just over.
Ukraine took the lead in the 39th minute. Kravchuk played a neat exchange with Yana Kalinina to be released through the Scotland defence and on into the penalty area, where she slotted past Sandy MacIver.
Andreatta made a few changes during the second half, including sending on Miri Taylor for her Scotland debut — the Aston Villa midfielder having switched from representing England at youth level — along with Celtic’s McAneny.

Ukraine went close again on the hour when Glasgow City forward Nicole Kozlova fired wide from six yards following another dangerous cross into the Scotland box.
Scotland created a couple of late chances when Lauren Davidson was sent clear, but saw her chip over Samson drop just wide and then had a header saved.
Andreatta’s side, though, eventually were rewarded when McAneny fired into the roof of the net from six yards after Georgia Brown’s shot was parried out following a scramble at a corner, which had seen Scotland keeper MacIver go up.
