Former UFC fighter BJ Penn has been arrested after allegedly punching and kicking another man in Hawai'i.
Hawai'i Island Police say the 46-year-old ex-fighter was booked and charged with third-degree assault after the incident that occurred early Tuesday morning.
According to a statement from the Hawai'i Island Police, authorities responded to a home in the city of Hilo, the largest city on the 'big island' of Hawai'i, at 1:00am.
Per the statement, the victim claims Penn punched and kicked him 'multiple times before the victim was able to leave the area and contact police'.
The victim later went to a local medical center for treatment for his injuries.
Penn was then picked up by police on a different street nearly eleven hours later at 11:50am. He was booked and later posted a $1,000 bail. He is due in court on December 2.

Daily Mail Sport has contacted Penn for comment on this matter.
This is not the first time Penn has had run-ins with the law. In fact, this is the sixth time this year he's been arrested.
The previous encounters have involved alleged abuse of his 79-year-old mother, Lorraine Shin.
Back in September, Penn was arrested for violating a restraining order that Shin had placed upon him.
In May, Penn was arrested twice and charged with abusing his mother - who described her son to police as delusional. It was then that she filed the restraining order.
Penn had shared footage on Instagram of police arresting him at his home, with the video showing authorities dragging him out of his bed before leading him away in handcuffs.
He was then arrested on a charge of 'abuse family or household member: offensive physical contact.'
Penn was eventually released on $2,000 bail.
Penn claims the petitioner is an imposter pretending to be his mother Lorraine Shin (right)
Shin, pictured with BJ and other family members in 2012, claims he is suffering from a disorder where someone falsely believes a person has been replaced by an identical impostor
Penn has allegedly claimed that his mother is an imposter.
Police said the woman told them he 'took her mail and then shined a bright flashlight in her eyes when asked for the mail to be returned.'
She then claimed she was shoved against a car by Penn when she tried to move the light away from her eyes.
The fighter was arrested over the allegations before being released with a warning citation after posting bond. That citation ordered him to stay away from the alleged victim.
However, police said he violated it just hours later when he showed up to the woman's house early the next morning.
Penn was therefore arrested for a second time on another charge of abuse of family or household member.
After leaving custody, the Hawaii-born American initially posted a clip of officers confronting him in his bedroom, before he shared more footage of the alleged bust-up with an elderly woman which led to his first arrest.

Penn claimed in the caption that the woman is a 'fake Lorraine Shin' - which is his mother's name. Lorraine also appears to be 79 years old, according to public records.
The video in question seemingly captures someone waving a light, while a woman can be heard repeatedly screaming: 'Hit me!'
Penn added in the caption: '[She] has tried to get me to assault her and she has already walked around my house with a gun when I asked her about my finances and my families finances. This lady knows nothing about business and is a murdering theif [sic]. The REAL LORRAINE SHIN MAKES THIS MORON LOOK PARKED'.
Penn's mother since filed for a restraining order against her son after telling a court that she is convinced her son suffers from a rare psychological disorder known as Capgras syndrome - a delusional misidentification syndrome where a person falsely believes a person close to them has been replaced by an identical impostor.
Shin alleges that she has endured 'extreme psychological abuse' at the hands of the ex-UFC star after being accused of being an imposter who 'killed his family' and took on his mother's identity.
Penn has previously posted a series of disturbing social media posts about his mother Lorraine and brothers Jay Dee, Reagan, and Kalani Mamazuka.
Penn fought in the UFC from 2001 to 2019 - winning world titles across two weight divisions
'Hilo Police Department I need your help. My mother… my brothers… we're (sic) all murdered and I need you to investigate,' he wrote on Instagram.
'I need you to investigate these guys get these people out of my house and my off my properties.'
He claimed they had been replaced by imposters who are now trying to 'steal everything from his family'.
Penn competed in the UFC between 2001 and 2019 and won world titles in two divisions before being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
