TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The health condition of Pope Francis is still critical but stable, according to the media team of the Holy See Vatican on Tuesday as reported by Anadolu and Sputnik, cited by Antara.
"The current health condition of the Pope is still critical but stable. There is no acute respiratory distress (ISPA) and hemodynamic parameters are still constant," according to the statement.
The Anadolu News Agency reported that on Monday night the Vatican announced that the Pope's health was showing slight improvement.
"There were no respiratory distress episodes like asthma that day, and some laboratory test results showed improvement," wrote the Vatican Press Office statement.
The statement also mentioned that the mild kidney health issue experienced by the Pope does not cause concern and, in fact, the Pope resumed work and made a phone call to a parish in Gaza on Monday night.
Pope Francis has been undergoing treatment at Gemelli Hospital, Rome, since February 14 due to double pneumonia.
On Sunday, the Vatican stated that Pope Francis had received a blood transfusion to increase the hemoglobin levels in his body.
