WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah the Butcher has reportedly been hospitalized while battling 'serious health issues'.
The 84-year-old, whose real name is Lawrence Robert Shreve, was taken to hospital Thursday night because of the unspecified problem, booking agent Steve Stasiak revealed.
After sharing the worrying news, Stasiak called on the wrestling community to send 'prayers, positive thoughts, and strength' to Abdullah amid his health struggle.
'Right now, he needs all of us. Let’s come together as fans, friends, and family of this business to send our prayers, positive thoughts, and strength his way,' he wrote in a post on Facebook.
'Abdullah and members of his team follow this page — they often read your comments and even Abdullah himself comments. So if you want to leave a message, memory, or prayer for him, please do. He’ll see them, and it will mean more than you can imagine.'
Back in July 2024, wrestling site PWInsider.com reported that Abdullah was hospitalized while dealing with an 'intestinal issue'. It is unclear whether his latest medical trouble is related.

The 2011 WWE Hall of Fame inductee, was hospitalized in 2024 due to 'intestinal issues'
The Canadian icon started wrestling as a teen in the late 1950s and first gained attention in All Japan Pro Wrestling in the 70s and 80s. He is best remembered for his bloody battles with famous rivals Terry Funk and Jumbo Tsuruta.
He also locked horns with the likes of Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant throughout his memorable career.
In 2011 Abdullah was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, yet that same year his legacy was called into question when he was accused of giving wrestler and promoter Devon Nicholson Hepatitis C after allegedly cutting him with a blade in 2007. Nicholson won a $2million lawsuit against him in 2014.
After losing that suit, Wrestling Inc reported that he was forced to cash in on his WWE Hall of Fame ring to raise funds, while he was said to be living day-by-day as recently as 2022.
