TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Apple released updates for the iPhone operating system, iOS 18.6.2, and the iPad operating system, iPadOS 18.6.2, to anticipate new security attacks. Currently, it is known that processing dangerous image files can damage memory.
"Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been exploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals," Apple wrote on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, via the official user assistance site.
Apple detailed the devices that received the updates, including the iPhone XS and later, iPad Pro 13-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and later, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st generation and later, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 7th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later.
For customer protection, Apple does not disclose, discuss, or confirm security issues until an investigation is conducted and a patch or release is available.
"Keeping your software up to date is one of the most important things you can do to maintain your Apple product's security," Apple stated.
