TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that Jakarta and Tangerang will be showered with light to moderate rain today, Sunday, March 9, 2025. The Thousand Islands are also likely to experience heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
Referring to the latest BMKG weather forecast, light rain is expected to start in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and South Jakarta from 10:00 AM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) to 4:00 PM WIB later. Meanwhile, East Jakarta and North Jakarta are expected to have already been showered with rain since the morning, around 07:00 AM WIB, towards the evening.
Thunderstorms are predicted to hit the Thousand Islands on Sunday morning, starting at 07:00 AM WIB until 10:00 AM WIB. Overall, the air temperature in Jakarta ranges between 24-28 degrees Celsius throughout today. Wind speed can reach a maximum of 13 kilometers per hour.
Several neighboring metropolises of Jakarta in West Java, namely Bogor Regency, Bogor City, and Depok City, are also likely to experience light rain starting from 10.00 AM WIB later. The rain is expected to last until the evening. The temperature in Bogor Regency will not exceed 28 degrees Celsius.
Bekasi Regency and Bekasi City will also experience light rain on Sunday morning until 4:00 PM WIB later. Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City in Banten are also likely to be showered with light rain in the morning until the evening. The air temperature in this Banten area ranges from 25-27 degrees Celsius with air humidity levels of 93-98 percent.
