TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The annual Tempo Film Festival returns this year to express appreciation for Indonesia’s film industry. This year’s awards took place at Graha Bhakti Budaya at Ismail Marzuki Park in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
The Tempo Film Festival crowned ‘Yohanna’ (2024) by director Robby Ertanto as ‘Best Film According to Tempo.’ The film, which highlights the issue of child exploitation in East Sumba, also snatches the ‘Best Actress’ category with Laura Basuki.
‘Kabut Berduri’ or ‘Borderless Fog,’ released in 2024, dominates in this year’s awards, taking home three out of seven nominations. Among them are the ‘Best Scriptwriter’ for Edwin—also the director—and Ifan Ismail; ‘Best Actor’ for Yoga Pratama; and ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for Yudi Ahmad Tajudin.

Winners at the Tempo Film Festival were selected and reviewed by Tempo art journalists and film experts, ranging from directors, critics, and screenwriters such as Leila S. Chudori, Nurman Hakim, and Ismail Basbeth.
The awards were first established during Tempo’s special edition Millennium 2001, and have since evolved, spotlighting films for their artistic excellence and relevance to current social, cultural, and political issues.
In addition to the awards presentation, special performances by Sal Priadi and Idgitaf enlivened the evening, as well as Stage Performance Act by Jovial and Andovi Da Lopez.
Previously, the Malam Insan Film - Menuju Kota Global Kota Sinema event held at Balai Agung, Jakarta City Hall, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, served as a prelude to the Tempo Film Festival. The event was attended by government officials and national film industry figures.
