Tempo.co, Jakarta - Before his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20, 2025, Donald Trump met with President Joe Biden for morning tea at the White House.
According to the official inauguration schedule, Trump's first agenda is to attend a church service, followed by a meeting with Biden for a morning tea at the White House. Afterward, Trump is set to host a farewell ceremony for Biden.
Donald John Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States at precisely noon local time. However, his presidency will officially begin regardless of whether he takes the oath.
During his oath of office, Trump will use two Bibles: his family Bible, which he has owned since 1955, and the Bible that was used during Abraham Lincoln's inauguration in 1861.
The Bible used by Lincoln has been featured in three modern-day inauguration ceremonies: twice by Barack Obama, during his swearing-in ceremonies in 2009 and 2013, and once by Trump in 2017.
Due to the cold weather, this year's inauguration ceremony, typically held outdoors, will take place inside the Capitol Building. This will mark the second time the event has been held indoors, the first being during Ronald Reagan's inauguration in 1985.
Once Trump is officially sworn in as President, he will bid farewell to Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. He will then sign his first executive orders and make his initial political appointments, while also engaging with Congressional leaders.
Following this, Trump will observe an honor guard to formally welcome the new president before heading to the White House, where he will sign additional documents in the Oval Office.
Donald Trump's inauguration day will conclude with three grand gala events: the Commander in Chief Ball, the Liberty Ball, and the Starlight Ball, where he will deliver speeches at each.
