Female Ministers in Prabowo-Gibran's Cabinet; Sri Mulyani, Widiyanti Putri Included

CANTIKA.COM, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto announced the composition of his government cabinet for the 2024-2029 term on Sunday, October 20. The Merah Putih Cabinet comprises seven coordinating ministries and 41 technical ministries. Prabowo's personal aide Major (Inf) Teddy Indra Wijaya, also known as Mayor Teddy, was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary.

As expected, several names mentioned in previous predictions were included in the list, such as Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.

Here is a list of female ministers serving in Prabowo’s government.

1. Sri Mulyani - Minister of Finance

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has returned as the Finance Minister in the Prabowo era, marking the third time that she has served as the country's national treasurer. 

In 2006, she was named Asia's Best Finance Minister by the Emerging Markets Forum during the IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Singapore.

The 62-year-old woman was also selected as one of the 23 most influential women in the world by Forbes Magazine in 2008 and the second most influential woman in Indonesia by Globe Asia magazine in October 2007.

In 2019, Sri was again honored as the Best Finance Minister in the Asia Pacific region by the FinanceAsia magazine. This award marked her third consecutive win, having previously received it in 2017 and 2018.

2. Meutya Hafid - Minister of Communication and Digital

Meutya Hafid, a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) since 2010, was appointed to a ministerial position in the Prabowo era. She is a former journalist at Metro TV and a host of several television programs. She entered the political realm by becoming a member of the DPR in 2010 as a Golkar cadre representative. In 2019, she served as the Chairperson of the DPR Commission I.

“One of my future challenges is to eradicate online gambling,” Meutya said after the announcement.

3. Rini Widyantini - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform

Prior to assuming the role of Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), Rini Widyantini served as the Secretary of the PANRB Ministry, focusing on accelerating data integration for more efficient and targeted decision-making.

Previously, Rini held the position of Deputy of Institutional and Organizational Affairs. The role of the PANRB Ministry Secretary was previously filled by Dwi Wahyu Atmaji, who is now the Human Resources Expert Assessor at the National Civil Service Agency (BKN).

While serving as a deputy, Rini was also involved in the Electronic-Based Governance System (SPBE). As the Secretary of the Ministry of PANRB, responsible for internal affairs, Rini aims to develop digital systems to enhance the competencies and capabilities of employees.

Rini's mission in this position is to transform the internal governance of the PANRB Ministry. She seeks to create an internal environment that fosters greater responsiveness among PANRB Ministry employees. This involves ensuring that all employees are responsive to public needs and decision-making processes.

4. Widiyanti Putri Wardhana - Minister of Tourism

Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, one of the founders of Teladan Group, is rumored to be appointed to a ministerial position in the Prabowo government. With over 30 years of experience in various industries, Widiyanti has built a distinguished career in business and philanthropy.

Her leadership and strategic vision have been instrumental to her success in the business world. Widiyanti is also actively involved in various community organizations. She is the chairman of Yayasan Teladan Utama, a supervisor of Yayasan Kawula Madani, and the secretary general of Yayasan Jantung Indonesia from 2018 to 2024.

5. Arifatul Choiri Fauzi - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA)

Arifatul Choiri Fauzi was appointed Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) in the Prabowo cabinet. Arifatul is the secretary general of Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama (Muslimat NU), the women's wing of the country's largest Muslim organization. 

She is also an active member of the Information and Communication Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council (Infokom MUI). Arifatul served as the deputy chairman of Prabowo-Gibran's National Campaign Team (TKN) during the 2024 presidential election.
