TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The railway line between Pekalongan Station and Sragi, Pekalongan Regency, Central Java, cannot be passed through due to the floods that have been affecting the area since early Saturday, January 17, 2026.

The Public Relations Manager of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 4 Semarang, Luqman Arif, stated that the water inundation has exceeded the track head limit. The inundation at several points has reached 10 cm above the track.

"The track is declared unsafe and dangerous to pass through," said Luqman in Semarang on Saturday, January 17, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

As a result of this condition, he continued, the railway line on the northern coast of Central Java is temporarily closed. He mentioned that several train journeys were temporarily halted due to the disrupted track.

Some train journeys that were disrupted due to the flooded track include Jayabaya Train, Harina Train, Argo Anjasmoro Train, Tawangjaya Premium Train, Blambangan Ekspres Train, Kertajaya Train, and Dharmawangsa Train.

PT KAI, he continued, continues to monitor the condition of the water inundation and make mitigation efforts to ensure the safety of train journeys.

He added that PT KAI apologizes to the affected customers due to this condition.
