Genocide Continues: Israel Intensifies Airstrikes on Gaza, Over 300 Killed

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Israel resumed its aerial assaults and large-scale airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, during the final days of Ramadan, reigniting its genocide campaign after a two-month lull.

Tuesday's attack targeted multiple areas in Gaza, including Khan Younis and Rafah in the south, Gaza City in the north, and central regions such as Deir el-Balah.

The bombings have killed at least 342 Palestinian civilians in Gaza as of Tuesday afternoon, and wounded hundreds more, including women, children, and the elderly, as reported by Al Jazeera.

The attacks also threaten the lives of those trapped in the ruins of buildings destroyed by the Israeli strikes.

According to local health sources, initial data indicates that the majority of the casualties are from the southern part of Gaza.

The injured victims of the attack were immediately evacuated to the Kuwait Field Hospital nearby. Meanwhile, more than 15 people, including five children, were confirmed dead and over 20 others were injured as a result of the airstrikes in Gaza City. The victims were promptly taken to local hospitals.

Furthermore, dozens of wounded victims were reported to have been taken to the Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat, central Gaza, after the airstrikes struck the refugee camps of Nuseirat and Al-Bureij in the area.

Health officials at Al-Awda Hospital reported at least 14 fatalities, including children, due to the attacks on the two refugee camps in southern Gaza.

A total of 70 other individuals were reported injured, many of them in critical condition due to the bombings of civilian homes there.

In northern Gaza, at least eight people, including six children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp. Several others were also injured due to Zionist forces' attacks in the civilian area of the camp.

Sources reported multiple injuries from Israeli attacks on two family homes in Abasan Al-Kabira, eastern Khan Younis, and on tents in the Muwasi area.

Fatalities were also recorded after Israeli airstrikes hit a school sheltering refugees in Al-Daraj, Gaza City, and destroyed three homes in Tal Al-Hawa, as well as residences in the Al-Bureij and Nuseirat refugee camps.

Rescue teams are struggling to reach affected areas due to ongoing Israeli bombings.

This surge in violence signals the renewal of Israel's genocide in Gaza, which had paused for two months following a ceasefire agreement on January 19.

The escalation comes amid concerns over the worsening humanitarian crisis in the densely populated Palestinian enclave, exacerbated by Israel's blockade on the entry of humanitarian aid, including essential medications, to Gaza since March 2, 2025.
