TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Senior officials from the Gerindra Party have spoken out about the issue of a reshuffle involving Finance Minister Sri Mulyani. President Prabowo Subianto previously held a meeting with Sri Mulyani at the Presidential Palace on March 12, 2025.
The General Secretary of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, stated that he could not confirm the issue. Muzani admitted that he has not directly met with Prabowo to discuss the possible cabinet shake-up.
"I have not met the President yet," said Muzani when met at the Senayan Parliament Complex on Friday afternoon, March 14, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, dismissed the issue concerning Finance Minister Sri Mulyani's resignation from her position. Based on what he heard, the meeting was only about breaking the fast together while discussing Indonesia's current economic conditions.
Dasco has also confirmed to the government that there are no plans for a reshuffle.
"I have also checked with the government, and there are no plans for a reshuffle, including from Mrs. Sri Mulyani," said Dasco after a working visit to Pasar Kramat Jati, Jakarta, on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Dasco stated that the breaking of the fast between Prabowo and Sri Mulyani went on in a friendly manner. Thus, he believed that the news of Sri Mulyani's resignation was baseless. "As friends saw in the media, they were friendly to each other. I think the issue created outside of that basis is unfounded and undermines the spirit of fasting," he said.
Prior to this, Sri Mulyani Indrawati met with President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace on March 12 to report on the state budget performance. At that time, Sri Mulyani met with President Prabowo for approximately 2 hours, interspersed with a breaking of fast together.
"I just reported on the state budget and other matters," said Sri Mulyani in response to journalists' questions.
Sri Mulyani refused to elaborate further on the substance of her meeting with Prabowo. After mentioning the budget reports, Sri Mulyani walked straight to her vehicle without responding to other journalists' questions.
